HOW IT WORKS

the hybrid model

At the core of the Guild are two connected entities:

  • Veterans Guild of America (VGA) — our for-profit production arm, which develops, produces, and co-produces film and television projects.

  • Veterans Guild Foundation (VGF) — our 501(c)(3) non-profit, dedicated to education, outreach, and the Development Fund that supports training, workshops, and veteran-led creative projects.

Together, they create a full pipeline from training to employment to production — all under one unified mission.

member participation

Members of the Guild can take part in multiple ways:

  • Crew Placement: Work on active film and media productions through the Guild.

  • Cross-Training: Learn new crafts across departments — from camera to art, grip, lighting, and post.

  • Mentorship & Workshops: Receive hands-on guidance from industry professionals and veteran mentors.

  • Creative Development: Pitch or develop original projects through the VGA’s Development Fund.

partner collaboration

Studios, producers, and outside creators can partner with the VGA as co-producers or hire the Guild’s crew services directly. Every partnership helps fund veteran programs through the Foundation, turning professional productions into a force for opportunity and reinvestment.

the development fund

Our Development Fund bridges the gap between training and professional work. Supported by donations, sponsors, and co-production revenue, it provides first-in development funding for film projects that employ or are led by veterans — proving that art and service can build something greater together.

the outcome

Every project we touch creates both artistic value and career opportunity. By merging purpose with production, the VGA is redefining what it means to serve — one story, one crew, one film at a time.

the guild portal

The Guild Portal will be the heart of our member network — a secure, interactive hub where veterans, first responders, and civilian members manage their professional profiles. Each profile showcases a member’s background, military experience, film credits, and skills across departments, allowing them to track progress and update achievements in real time. Producers and production partners can browse the Portal to find qualified crew for upcoming projects, ensuring that every hire meets the Guild’s professional standards. It’s both a talent database and a gateway — connecting our members directly to real opportunities and helping productions become VGA-qualified through verified veteran involvement.
