Please reach us at info@veteransguild.org if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Absolutely. The VGA is about collaboration between veterans and civilians. Many of our most impactful stories and productions are born from teams that blend both worlds.
If you share our values and believe in storytelling with purpose, there’s a place for you here.
The Guild Portal will serve as the digital hub for VGA members — a place to create professional profiles, showcase skills and credits, and connect with producers seeking qualified crew. It will also include access to training opportunities and calls for projects.
We’re currently in development and expect to launch the first version in the near future. Members who have already signed up will be notified the moment it goes live.
Membership in the Veterans Guild of America will always remain affordable and accessible. Once the Guild Portal launches, members will pay a low-cost yearly fee to maintain their active profile and access opportunities within the network.
For those hired through VGA productions or partner projects, a small percentage of project pay will go back to the Guild — helping fund training programs, development initiatives, and the veterans and first responders who come next.
Membership fees will not go into effect until the Guild Portal is live. When that time comes, all applicants and early supporters will receive an invitation and the option to officially activate their membership.
The VGA develops and co-produces both internal projects (those green-lit and created within the Guild) and external collaborations with partner studios, independent producers, and brands.
Our focus is on projects that reflect the Guild’s core values — discipline, creativity, teamwork, and purpose — while providing real-world training and employment opportunities for our members.
We’re always inspired by the creativity and passion of our members, but the VGA is not a traditional production company that produces every submission. Instead, our goal is to teach and empower members to develop, package, and navigate their own projects through industry-standard practices.
As our infrastructure grows, members will have access to workshops and mentorship opportunities to help refine their stories and potentially connect with collaborators through the Guild Portal.
Selected projects will need to pass a rigorous screening process and meet the tenets of the VGA before being green-lit for production.
As the Veterans Guild of America continues to grow, we are establishing a Screening and Development Team responsible for evaluating creative submissions from both members and outside collaborators.
Every project — whether it’s a script, book, concept, or treatment — will be reviewed to determine its current phase of development and what support or next steps it may need. Some ideas may be ready to move directly into active development or co-production, while others might require additional writing, packaging, or mentorship before reaching that stage.
The goal of this process isn’t to filter people out — it’s to help members strengthen their work, learn industry standards, and reach professional-level quality. By maintaining a clear review structure, the Guild ensures that each project meets a consistent creative and technical standard while fostering growth and opportunity for every participant.
The VGA believes that your ideas belong to you. When members share scripts, concepts, or other creative works with the Guild, those materials remain the sole property of the creator.
Our role is not to take ownership, but to help you learn how to develop, protect, and present your work professionally within the entertainment industry. Through the Guild’s programs, workshops, and mentorships, members will gain insight into copyright registration, pitch preparation, and industry-standard submission practices.
In cases where the VGA partners on a project or helps bring a member’s idea into production, a separate co-production or development agreement will be created to define all rights, responsibilities, and profit participation transparently before any work begins.
Members will be able to apply for crew positions on upcoming VGA and partner productions once the Guild Portal launches. We’re building a pathway where veterans, first responders, and civilians can gain real experience on professional sets, learn new crafts, and grow within the industry.
Stay connected through email updates and social media to be among the first to know when those opportunities open.
While we’re not yet hiring for full-time staff positions, we are actively building our member and volunteer network. There will be opportunities for leadership, training, and paid crew work as new productions and programs roll out.
If you’ve already joined the mailing list, you’ll receive updates as roles and opportunities become available.
